Suchi Saria

Suchi Saria, John C. Malone Associate Professor of Computer Science and the founding research director of the Malone Center for Engineering in Healthcare, has been recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of its Top Women Leaders for 2024. The program honors executives who are guiding health care delivery improvement across the country, spotlighting their professional accomplishments and contributions to their organizations.

Saria was recognized for her role as the founder and CEO of Bayesian Health; under her leadership, several health systems have implemented Bayesian’s AI-powered clinical decision support platform to help flag potential patient complications. This technology was also named one of TIME‘s Best Inventions of 2023.

Saria’s research goal is to use sophisticated machine learning and AI techniques and the deluge of data available in health care and other settings to individualize patient care and to save lives. To this end, she has partnered with the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and the United States Food and Drug Administration on matters related to artificial intelligence in health care; she also serves on the steering committee for the National Academy of Medicine’s AI Code of Conduct project.
