Ben Langmead, a professor of computer science, has been recognized by the Johns Hopkins University with a 2025 Career Impact Award.

Established in 2021, these awards recognize individuals across the Hopkins community who go out of their way to support the professional growth of others, often behind the scenes. Their generosity, mentorship, and advocacy help shape careers and strengthen the university community.

Langmead, who holds a joint appointment in the Department of Biostatistics at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and founded the Genomics@JHU seminar series to bring both junior and senior genomics researchers to speak at Hopkins, is one of 13 award winners out of more than 240 nominations.

The recipients were recognized at the Imagine Center‘s awards ceremony on November 13, 2025.
