Ali Madooei

Ali Madooei, an associate teaching professor in the Department of Computer Science, has received this year’s Whiting School of Engineering Excellence in Teaching Award. The award honors his extraordinary dedication to the university’s teaching mission, exceptional performance in the classroom, and continuing commitment to tomorrow’s leaders.

“These awards are an opportunity to recognize our outstanding teachers and mentors and the many contributions they have made to the school for the benefit of our students and colleagues,” said Dean Ed Schlesinger in his announcement of the winners.

Madooei is passionate about computer science education, student engagement, and effective teaching, with a particular interest in the intersection of pedagogy and technology. He runs the Computer-Oriented Learning Lab to promote research and development in educational software tools, methods, and practices.
