Dr. Michel Dinitz has been selected as this year’s winner of the Joel Dean Excellence in Teaching Award. The award was presented to Dr. Dinitz at the annual Whiting School of Engineering Convocation Awards Ceremony on Monday, May 8, 2017, 3:00 p.m. in Shriver Hall, JHU Homewood Campus.
This is an annual award to recognize graduate students and faculty who have exhibited extraordinary performance in teaching undergraduates. The award was initiated by Joel and Monia Dean with the objective of promoting excellence in undergraduate education at the Krieger School and funded by the Joel Dean Foundation created by Professor Dean in 1957.
Dr. Michel Dinitz is an assistant professor for the Department. He obtained his Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University in 2010 and his A.B. from Princeton University in 2005.
