Chien-Ming Huang

I work on human-robot interaction (HRI) and, more broadly, human-computer interaction (HCI) and robotics. Projects I'm currently pursuing include making robotic technology accessible across backgrounds, understanding the long-term effects of human-robot interaction in real-world settings, understanding how AI impacts human work, and designing interactions and interfaces for AI systems that assist people.

My research program has been supported by NSF, NIH, NIST, the Johns Hopkins Institute for Assured Autonomy, the Applied Physics Laboratory, the Johns Hopkins Malone Center for Engineering in Healthcare, and a Johns Hopkins Discovery Award.
