Brief Biography

I-Jeng Wang was born in Tapei, Taiwan. He received the B.S. degree from the National Chiao-Tung University (Hsinchu, Taiwan) in Control Engineering in 1987; the M.S. degree from the Pennsylvania State University (Univeristy Park) in the Department of Electrical Engineering in 1991; and the Ph.D. degree from the Purdue University in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering in 1996. From August 1996 to September 1997, he was a postdoctorl research associate with the Institute for Systems Research at the University of Maryland, College Park. He joined the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in 1997, where he is a Principal Professional Staff with the Milton S. Eisenhower Research Center. Since October 2005, he also holds a Assistant Research Professor position with the Computer Science Depatement at the Johns Hopkins University. His current research interests include stochastic optimization and control, applications of compressive sensing, and distributed information processing and control in sensor networks.
