Who I Am

» Who I am

I am a professor in the Computer Science Department at The Johns Hopkins University. My principal areas of research are computer vision and robotics, and my application interests these days are in the area of medical devices and human-machine systems. I direct the Computational Interaction and Robotics Lab (CIRL) in the Laboratory for Computational Sensing and Robotics which us sited in Hackerman Hall . I am also the deputy directory of the NSF Engineering Research Center for Computer-Integrated Surgical Systems and Technology (CISST). I am a member of the Computing Community Consortium Council and the board of the International Federation of Robotics Research. I was elected a Fellow of the IEEE in 2006 for my contributions to computer vision and robotics.
