Distinguished Lecture Series Speaker Information
First of all, your travel expenses will of course be covered by us, and also a honorarium will be available. We have already made room reservations for the lecture series for each Thursday and Friday during the fall semester from 10:30 to 12:00. However, if none of these days or time slots work for you, we can also arrange a reservation for any other day and time.
Travel Information
- The Department of Computer Science is located in the New Engineering Building, or short NEB. The department office is in NEB 224. The NEB belongs to the Homewood Campus of the Johns Hopkins University. A map of the Homewood Campus can be found here.
- Travelling by car: the following driving directions will show you how to reach the Homewood Campus.
- Travelling by airplane: the nearest airport is the Baltimore Washington International Airport (or short BWI). In the case that your host is unable to pick you up, it is recommended to use a taxi (available at any exit on the lower level of the airport) or a shuttle bus to reach the hotel or the NEB building. Shuttle services are offered by The Airport Shuttle (Tel. 1-800-776-0323, www.theairportshuttle.com) and the SuperShuttle (Tel. 1-800-Blue-Van, www.supershuttle.com). Reservations should be made at least 24 hours in advance. Another option would be the Dulles International Airport near Washington. In this case, it is strongly recommended to use a rental car if the host is unable to pick you up, since all other options either take considerably more time or are considerably more expensive.
