Dear EMNLP/VLC authors, Please follow the following instructions carefully. Any enquiries regarding the submission of camera ready copy should be addressed to yarowsky@cs.jhu.edu; Tel: +1 410-516-5372 Thank you very much and looking forward to seeing you at EMNLP/VLC. Hinrich ************************************************************************* EMNLP/VLC Instruction for Authors ************************************************************************* Authors must print the Copyright Transfer Agreement at http://www.cis.udel.edu/%7Eacl2k/copyright.html, complete it and return it to the SIGDAT secretary/treasurer with their final camera-ready copies to reach the address below by September 1 2000, 3PM EDT. A PDF version of the paper must also be received by September 1 for inclusion in a CDROM including all workshop and conference papers associated with ACL-2000. Papers should be prepared according to the following guidelines: 1. Final camera-ready paper length must not exceed 10 pages, although a paper length of 7-8 pages is strongly encouraged. Significant wasted space is not acceptable. If the 9th and 10th pages need to be used, they should contain at least a full column of text or figures. 2. Papers must be printed on A4 paper, with approximately 1 inch margins and 11 point type. (a) if you are using latex, we have created a slightly modified version of colacl.sty that you used for your initial submission. The page is slightly narrower and taller, but the format is otherwise the same as your original submission and should accommodate approximately the same length of text. It can be downloaded from: http://nlp.cs.jhu.edu/~sigdat2k/sigdat2000.sty IF YOU ARE USING LATEX, PLEASE USE THIS UPDATED STYLE FILE. (b) Microsoft word users should modify their preliminary submission width and height to A4 size with 1-inch margins and 11 point type. If anyone wishes to volunteer a template for public use, please contact yarowsky@cs.jhu.edu. The paper should be in 2-column format. Title and author information should span both columns and appear centered at the top of the first page. Full-width figures and tables may be used if necessary. 3. You must send us 2 (TWO) HARD COPIES of your final camera-ready copy printed on A4 paper. If you have serious problems locating A4 paper or printing on it, please contact yarowsky@cs.jhu.edu for help as soon as possible. 4. DO NOT NUMBER YOUR PAGES ON THE FRONT - leave the bottom margin blank. 5. Number the back of your pages VERY LIGHTLY in pencil at the bottom, and include the last name of the 1st author. 6. Do not staple or paper clip your submissions. They should be loose in a relatively firm envelope to protect them. 7. PDF copies of all papers must be submitted by September 1 using the following URL (very similar to the original paper submission): http://nlp.cs.jhu.edu/~sigdat2k/finalpdf.html Those authors who are unable to generate PDF files should contact hinrich@groupfire.com for help with this process. Note: PDF copies are IN ADDITION TO the required hard copies. Both must be received for inclusion in the proceedings. REMEMBER: TWO copies of your final, camera-ready paper must reach the SIGDAT secretary/treasurer in Maryland no later than September 1, 2000, 3 PM EDT. Here is the mailing address: EMNLP/VLC c/o David Yarowsky - SIGDAT Sec/Treas Dept. of Computer Science - NEB 224 Johns Hopkins University 3400 N. Charles St. Baltimore, MD 21218 U.S.A.
