Vladimir Braverman is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Johns Hopkins University, with a secondary appointment in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. He is a member of the Algorithms and Complexity group, the Johns Hopkins Mathematical Institute for Data Science (MINDS), the Institute for Data Intensive Engineering and Science (IDIES), and the Machine Learning group.
Braverman has been a Staff Research Scientist at Google Research since 2020. He is an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Imaging at UT Health, Houston.
In 2022-2025, Braverman was a Victor Cameron Professor of Computer Science at Rice University, where he is currently an Adjunct Professor. Braverman graduated with a PhD from UCLA in 2011; before that, he led a research group at HyperRoll, a startup acquired by Oracle in 2009. Braverman’s current research interests include efficient machine learning with applications in digital health. He is a recipient of the NSF CAREER, the Google Faculty Award, and the Cisco Faculty Award.
