More recently, I have been working in the area of Computational Biology to develop modeling, simulation and algorithmic tools to understand the working of biological organisms. For a list of publication, see my CV. A complementary interest that I pursue is in the area of alternative computing paradigms. My interest in this multidisciplinary area at the intersection of Computer Science and other computational/life sciences took me to the Division of Computing and Communication Foundations at the National Science Foundation (October of 2002 to September of 2006) where I developed and directed a funding program on Emerging Models and Technologies  for Computation.
