SUMMARY:Computer Science Faculty Research Panel
DESCRIPTION:Faculty will present on their own research and areas of specialty and answer questions you might have on how to apply your degree to the broader world of computer science\, at Hopkins and beyond. \nZoom link » \nLearn more about the faculty presenting: \nYiqun Chen\n\nYiqun Chen is an assistant professor of biostatistics and computer science\, working at the interface of generative AI and statistical methodology for scientific discovery and public health. Recently\, he has been working on this from the perspective of principled AI evaluations\, with motivating applications in genomics and digital health interventions.  \nBen Langmead\n\nBen Langmead is a professor of computer science whose group develops methods and software to make high-throughput biological data easy for biomedical researchers to use\, drawing on ideas from sequence alignment\, text indexing\, and high-performance computing. \nTinoosh Mohsenin\n\nTinoosh Mohsenin is an associate professor of electrical and computer engineering and computer science. As director of the Energy-Efficient High-Performance Computing Lab\, she leads research on energy-efficient hardware and software for machine learning\, multimodal AI\, and edge computing. \nEric Nalisnick\nEric Nalisnick is an assistant professor of computer science whose research interests span statistical machine learning and probabilistic modeling\, with an emphasis on quantifying uncertainty in deep learning\, human-AI collaboration\, specifying prior knowledge\, and detecting distribution shift.
