This is a timing package for XVision.

As your first step, edit the Makefile, changing the definitions you
find there according to the type of digitizer, compiler, OS, and so
forth that you are using. Once that is done, typing make should
compile all of the timing programs and run them, generating an output
file containing timing information for various systems components

Each file contains a definition of K_ITERS at the beginning. It
defines the number of thousand iterations performed in the timing
cycle. Depending on the speed of your machine, your desire for
accurate information, and your patience, you might want to change this
definition. You may also want to comment out some of the timing
trials if you're not a stickler for checking out things like the
effectiveness of cache on large images and so forth. The various
subdirectories contain the latest timing information as of when we
distributed the system.

If you run this on a new and novel machine, please send us the results
so that we can keep a record.
