welcome!

Sitting at my new desk in the CSE building!

My name is Tiffany Chen and I am a BS/MSE candidate in Biomedical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University. My undergraduate curriculum consisted of a combination of biology and engineering classes with the intent of modeling various physiological processes with mathematical equations and circuits. I minored and focused my undergraduate degree in computer science and am interested in computer-integrated surgery and medical device design and related topics.

I am a member of the Computational Interaction and Robotics Lab in the JHU Computer Science department under the direction of Dr. Gregory D. Hager. I am collaborating with Henry Lin on the Language of Surgery project during which we are attempting to model the movements used during various forms of surgery. Surgical modeling lays the groundwork for comparison of motions across different skill levels as a means of surgical skill assessment.
