Our goal is to design a system that takes advantage of cloud computing, mobile devices, and fast mobile networks to enhance the way people interact with each other collaboratively.
Today we are living in the age of handheld computing devices equipped with powerful processing power, networking capabilities, and rich input output interfaces such as camera, microphone, speaker, touch screen etc. In this OzCHI 2012 design challenge, we propose a distributed orchestra using smart phones.
We set following requirements for the concepts.
Our prototype contains two hand-held device such as ipad or iPhone with camera and internet. We also need a piano keyboard layout that is affixed on a table or any surface. Software on devices run a computer vision based algorithm to tack fingers location on the paper layout, and plays related musical notes.
Many devices can be connected with the help of cloud and data is shared with multiple users located at various part of world.
