Welcome to Programming!

You're in the right place if you want to figure out what programming is all about. You'll also finally get to know your "inner hacker" and test your stamina when it comes to accepting seemingly random pieces of information and shaping them into a coherent whole. Seriously, it'll be fun. :-)

Basics

Catalog Description: An introduction to computer programming fundamentals using Java. Course focuses on principles of developing well-designed programs for immediate use while providing a solid foundation for more advanced object-oriented programming. Topics include variables, control structures, basic data structures, methods, class design, and others as time permits. Course homework involves significant programming assignments (15-20 hours/week).

Prerequisite(s): Familiarity with using computers; 600.101: Computer Fluency or 600.102: Foundations of Computer Science could be helpful.
