About Me
I am a PhD student at the Johns Hopkins University in the Department of Computer Science. I am a member of the Hopkins Storage Systems Lab and my advisor is Randal Burns. My research interests include erasure coded storage systems, cloud storage, large scale archival systems and data reliability/security. Recently, I have been exploring ways to improve recovery I/O performance within the context of disk failures in a cloud setting with the help of erasure coding.
Prior to coming to JHU, I completed my M.S. from the University of Saarland and earned my B.Sc.(Hons.) from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).
During the summer, I will be interning at Microsoft Research, where I will be working with James Mickens.
I hope to be defending by the end of the year, so I am on the lookout for interesting full time opportunities and would love to hear about any challenging projects out there.
