A seal from Indus Valley civilization. There
are many theories regarding the great Indian Migration to the Ganges
Valley after the river Indus started drying up. This a Stud Bull
considered sacred to lord Shiva. They are not confined or put to work
in India but are allowed to wander and eat whatever they like. The seal
shows significance of this animal in Indus Valley Civilization which is
still followed in India. Today is August 19, 2009 and tomorrow on August 20 is 'Pola' festival in my home state Maharashtra where cattles are worshipped and decorated and paraded on this day.
