coach burnout

That is a judgement call on your part. If faced with the situation here
[even if I were not judged on publication almost entirely for raises,
tenure, promotion, etc, as is the case here] I would cut it to six
tournaments, or ask for the additional $630.00 in funding--but you know
your situation better than I do, so I would have to respect your decision
in this matter. Likewise, I understand my situation the best, and my
experience has favored allowing the male student his own room.

Fortunately my administrators see it just the opposite as yours. I also
respect the necessity for program directors to respect the wishes of the
administrators, and commend your ability to adapt.
With all due respect to your superiors, however, I neither could or would
direct forensics at your instition, nor would or could I here if
administrators suggested forcing me to share rooms with students. The scope
of this remark only refers to "I" and my context--and if image isn't
everything, often, context is.
I appreciated the thoughtfulness of your post and your support of the
notion we're not babysitters. Although our students have been honorable
here, I also miss the honor codes common to both private and public schools
back east (I know both my alma mater UNC, as well as UVA and many others,
exemplify other public eastern schools with honor codes).
