Re: T = voter

a truly tabula rasa critic doesn't exist, we all bring our own values

This thread has been done and overdone, but suffice to say that while we may
all HAVE values, they don't always come into the room. Additionally, some are
better at keeping them out than others.

(for instance that we would rather save human lives over the lives of
animals) and we use them to determine the round unless they
are challenged. Topicality is no different.

First, there are many (myself included) who would NOT make the leap that you
claim. If you want me to weigh human lives against animal lives, you need to
make that claim. I won't do it for you.
Second, OKAY, I'll accept that T is similar. See above.
I SAID:

That's why it is up to the debaters to impact their positions. If we assume
T is a voter, then we are doing work for them.

we are not doing anymore work for them than we normally would in an impact
debate.

Hmmmm. Has someone been doing work for you? I can't speak for others, but if
you wait for me to do work for you in a debate round, you will be waiting a
LONG time.

some things are simply true; T is a voter; there is a sun; etc....

Oh, you mean universal truths like the NPT is not topical on this topic?
Truth is subjective in this case. Can you show me a place in the CEDA rules
that says T is a voter? If not, then I would argue that your "truths" are
lacking to the tune of one.
If T is a voter, let the teams tell me that, I know all our T shells say it.
