Re: one topic or two

>>>>>>>>>>
Bob Lechtreck writes that the ceda constition stipulates only that we debate
two topics, not that these be different topics. This seems like a silly
argument to me.
>>>>>>>>>>

Gee, you're right. This one was SOOOO much more compelling. I have always
believed that silly arguments were easy to beat, yet you have done little
more than "name" it.

For the movie buff amongst us, the movie Maverick had a scene where a player
says he has 2 pairs ........ 8's and 8's (implying 4 of a kind). While there
may have been other ways to say this, the man was NOT wrong.

>>>>>>>>>>
Taking his logic at face value one could argue that we already debate 8 or 9
topics a semester, one each week a tournament is held, they all just happen
to be the same topic. You could go even further and argue that we debate X
(X=the amount of rounds held
in the ceda comunity for a semester) amount of topics each year, they all
just happen to be the same one.
>>>>>>>>>>

Yes you could say all those things. Unfortunately, this does not answer the
question of topic legality. The statement was made that CEDA rules require 2
topics and my answer was that we could have 2 topics which were the same. You
have not said why this would not be true. Your argument about regression does
not deny the possibility, it merely addresses the probability.

For such a "silly" argument, there is still no reason why it is not true.

>>>>>>>>>>
I just had to respond to that ine arguement.
>>>>>>>>>>

I hope the word that was misspelled wasn't inane. If it was, what must your
argument have been to not even answer mine?

Additionally, I thought the argument showed ingenuity rather than
"silliness".
