I, for one, appreciate the thought and patience you put in to replying to 
all of the posts listed.  I also will grant out that your statement was 
greatly misunderstood by many of us out here on the L.  I will accept 
your apology, and as an individual you seem to be taking the issue 
seriously.  But, unfortunately, the reaction has not been the same by 
all.  At first, I was offended by the fact that it seemed to be being 
blown off as only referring to freshmen, and that would be okay.  an 
opinion i strongly disagree with.  Now it seems that many have been made 
to feel uncomfortable by the fact that people are affected by the 
discourse that takes place over the L.  I think that is what i have a 
problem with---not you personally.  i think this thread of discourse is a 
valuable one to hash out, because many of us do feel so strongly about 
it.  so, if nothing else, i'm glad that it has spurred some valuable 
discussion here on the L.  

again, i appreciate your thoughtful reply and respect you gave to my and 
other's points, and although there may be still disagreements between us, 
i have full respect for you as a person.  i think that a few others out 
there could afford to take a hint from you and realize the affect their 
choice of words and language has on others as well!
