	How not?  And why do some people think it's such a bad thing
to make a claim?  But to make a claim IS to claim that the claim is right.

	It seemed to me that you really were making a claim about .5's.
Why come back at the end and deny it?

	It would be better, I think, to say, "While I believe I'm right
about .5's, I acknowledge that I might be mistaken."
