Strikes in elims......
I am in favor of the 'Tab picks 7 teams strike down to any odd number' system
Earl posted. I believe John Meany also posted a similar suggestion. I wonder
if that system would be procedurally difficult at CEDA nats. However, I also
would support a variety of variations inlcuding but not limited to allowing
teams the option of striking two of the three judges they get now. This would
be very easy to implement. Tab need do nothing different. After panels are
assigned the teams just get together and decide we are striking two judges or
keeping all three. They then tell those 2 judges they have a round off.
Some teams might not want to tell a judge we just struck you but it's
nationals so the impact isn't too big. I mean if a judge was so shallow as to
get pissed off about something like this then there are certainly a number of
things that will anger them between nationals and the next time you get that
judge.
