pro debate
I would like to give some of you life long debaters a small ray of hope
and possiblly stimulate some discussion about starting a professional
debate organization. How would you respond to an open invitation to the
1st pro tournament, winner take all? Entry fees would be about $75 in
order to create a sufficient pool of money to attract a slew of teams.
Since CEDA nor NDT have a clause about making money while competing in
college, everyone could debate. There is one problem: judges. Who would
judge such an event when they could be involved? I do have one idea. We
could put random citizens in the back of the room, and if after 20
minutes the two teams are unable to decide who won then the "judge" can
deciede. Oh well, it is just a thought!
