Bingo tourney question (fwd)
I got this question, and figured that others might benefit from the
answer. If you've no interest in the Binghamton toureny, stop now...
Forwarded message:

Actually, CEDA rounds overlap both IE finals rounds, making competition
in IE finals mutually exclusive of involvement in round 1 or 2 of CEDA.
-- Unfortunately for many, the policy is: those who choose to crossover,
do so at their own risk, and forfeit either their position in IE finals,
or one round of CEDA. While I acknowledge that this kinda 'bites',
it is the only way that we could fit everything into the time frame that
we need to. We're not comfortable with starting IE any earlier on
Friday, and we absolutely cannot squeeze any more out of the debate
schedule (I really don't like the idea of round 5 starting at 8:30 anyway).
** note for judges: we will try our absolute best to accomodate
crossovers. If few enough judges cross over, we may be able to give you
CEDA rounds off for IE finals. This is not a guarantee.
Sidenote: We would actually like CEDA to overlap IE more, but room
availability prevents that. I apologize to anyone who is greatly upset
by this- my only consolation is to say that if you are competing for the
love of it (as opposed to amassing hard-ware), then please consider
crossing over anyway, and taking the loss in one event or the other.
-Hope this helps to clarify
