Jason Jarvis & f(F)ederal gov't T

Jason, you don't honestly think that Framers Intent is a legitamite argument
do you? Beyond empowering the tyrannical hierarchy of the debate elites, who
can ever determine what the framers "wanted us to debate?" And even if one
could determine, who would care what they wanted? I would prefer that the
Framers wanted us to debate, period. About what is a bit irrelevant. The
purpose of the resolution is to divide fair ground, etc. (extend my last
posting), not to determine which subject area would be really neat to debate.
I think reasonablity is a weak standard- what is reasonable, and to whom-
awfully ambigious, wouldn't you agree? Besides, the example I gave was Canada,
not the Federal Republic of Zaire (if there is one) and I don't see any particu;lar problem with it. I will be running a canada counter-plan, most likely-
surely you will research answers to that- (extend once again my most recent
posting). The debate as to who is the preffered agent of action will occur
wether the aff advocates Canada, or the neg does- I don't see why one is legit
and the other is not given that the resolution does not specify the U.S.
Now, you make a good point that posting on CEDA-L is certainly not enough of a
check against abuse- but when it is compounded with the counter-plan arg. as
well as the "oceans lit checks abuse" I simply don't see the abuse. My real
question, and my real purpose in posting, however, is to determine whether
judges will vote for me if, like yourself, my opponents drop nearly all of the
arguments I make in my previous speech- regardless of the judges personal
interpretation of the topic. If I only have to beat arguments such as yours,
Jason, I would be comfortable running the case. However, If I have to beat the
arguments of the judge (which is a losing battle) than I simply won't run the
case. I appreciate your response Jason, but I think we have different
perspectives on topicality (not just this particular topic).
I apologize for any spelling/grammatical errors, but I, like Jason, am not an
english major.
