Do you kind of see my point about counterplans potentially mucking up
rounds ?

Earlier in your note, you mentioned that novices wouldn't be so confused
if they were using the communal ev. system like y'all use up North. For
the most part, I see your point. I do, however, believe that  communal ev.
systems (as is slowly being implimented into S.U. due to the influx of Vt.
people involved with SU) do have some problems. That is a topic for
another argument... Yet, in this instance, communal ev. is a good thing
for novices. I just hope that they are able to run the argument with
complete understanding because to convince a novice judge, they may have
to try to sell counterplan theory, and that's tough when you aren't sure
of what it means.
