SEA Topic Paper and other questions ANSWERED!
There is a common answer to so many questions asked on the L.
DEBATE CENTRAL.
Topic paper is on the CEDA web page: http://debate.uvm.edu/ceda.html
Or in the Library-Topic-CEDA at: http://debate.uvm.edu/lobby.html
THE BEST THINGS TO DO....
Is, when you have some time, to browse around the area and get to know
where things are. Every bit of debate info we can think might possibly be
of interest to people has been put on DEBATE CENTRAL. You might find things
like: job opportunities, the CEDA-L email address list (for those email
addresses people keep asking for), tournament invitations (people keep
losing), CEDA Executive Secretary Reports, etc., etc.
Then, bookmark places you need to go.
I am not writing this to be critical of the disorganization of others,
because I am terrible with paper flying around in my office, and I
personally use DEBATE CENTRAL as my extended debate filing cabinet for
everything I might want. Try using it that way yourself. It is quick and
easy. Find what you need and send it to the printer, then it can join other
stacks of paper to get lost again, but you will always know where to find
it!
A number of individuals, including myself, have put a lot of work into
creating this info arcology.
It has been useful. We get a lot of fan mail.

Subject: A short note of Thanks...
Dear Mr. Snider,
I just wanted to thank you for your wonderful web site at debate.uvm.edu. I
recently found myself quite unexpectedly handed the responsibility of
organizing a public debate between the private ambulance industry and the
government fire rescue factions over personnel staffing and unit deployment.
I simply don't know anything about formal debating other than political
debates I've seen on television. I decided to do a little research on the
Internet and found your web site. I found everything I needed to organize
the debate, set time lines and rules. I also learned enough to appreciate
the fact I'm not on one of the debate teams. :)
Your contribution to the Internet has helped me significantly. I just wanted
to say thank you.
Cheers,
Bill Godfrey, EMS Division Chief

Now I can't wait until this guy judges my team against yours! {sarcasm}
He can use it, new coaches from Brazil and Japan use it, and you can use it to!
By the way, if you are already a user (and we are now averaging over 200
hits a day) the way you can help us is by sending us useful information we
can add to the collection. It can be completely self-serving: a promo for
your team, your handbook, your institute, your scholarship program, your
convention paper, etc.
By the way, in the Fall we will be making a major announcement about the
role that the NFL will play on DEBATE CENTRAL.
The only value that this web site has is USE VALUE! So use it.
