ASSISTANT DEBATE COACH

Bates College is seeking a part-time Assistant Debate Coach who will
assist in the training of novice and experienced debaters, coordinate a
series of public debates, and assist in making arrangements for
international debate travel.

REQUIREMENTS: B.A. or B.S. and significant competitive experience in
parliamentary debating is required.  Prior teaching and/or coaching
experience is desired.

Review of applications will begin on JUNE 1, 1997.  Please send a cover
letter, resume (include detailed description of competitive experience),
two letters of recommendation, and the name, address, and telephone
