merger and mailing lists

I think that a merger of the lists would be a great thing.  However,
I think the common problem (which has been stated before) is that the
amount of mail coming through the list would bog down the system.  I am
not sure that this argument is completely true, but I have a suggestion
for any new system.  A new e-mail listserve should have 2 or 3 separate
lists, one for CEDA/NDT administrative information, tournament info, and
topic info that is necessary for everyone.  Then, have a second list that
people can discuss/flame/attack/badger each other over theory and other
issues.  I think this will decrease some of the congestion and allow
people to have a choice in what lists they want.  If people are tired
of flame sessions, they can subscribe to the administrative list.  If they
want both, they can sign up for both.
