I would also find it helpful (and perhaps others would as well) if
suggestions could be made concerning a kinda Landmark book or two on
each subject area that one could gleen the general notions of the
subject matter from.  Sometimes these are already in the current
bibliographies, but it might be useful to get a sense of where the best
beginnings would be.  It seems that part of the process between topic
area and the specific resolutions is an understanding of something of
the field context to be discussed.  A few primers always provide
guidance in this regard.  Last year was helpful (i read everything on
the environment bib) but was perhaps a bit too exhaustive a beginning.
