Discussion is good no matter when it takes place, and now certainly
would be a good time to debate the benefits of a so-called foreign
versus a so-called domestic topic.

I am calling unreserved bullshit on this suggestion.  If people on the
so-called foreign policy side want to sink that low then they might want
to muster up the decency to admit it so people in favor of civil rights
can contemplate about whether that forces OUR hands...

Suggestions like this give lie to the claim that much of the opposition
to the civil rights topic is "flamed" and accused of being "political."
Who is being political now?
