New Debate School

Don't unsub, I haven't signed back on to the list. Just want to share some
interesting info.

I was contacted by Darrin Simpson of Idaho State University, who explained
that Idaho State has appropriated $70,000 to start a nationally competitive
debate team. They want to hire someone at $28 to 35,000 to administer the
program on a non-tenure track, non-teaching basis. Ten full scholarships. The
program will be housed in the Student Govt, not the Comm Dept.

Their biggest problem is that they know little about debate. They had never
heard of CEDA, NDT, or parli. They want info. Mr. Simpson's number is
208-236-3435. They would greatly appreciate any advice and/or written
material on getting a program up and running. Anyone interested in the
potential job might be interested in contacting them. They'd also like to
receive info on the various institutes. They'd also like to talk to someone
familiar with the Northwest CEDA/parli circuit.

I hope that some of you can help these folks. They seem genuine, friendly,
and sincere.
