Dear Community,
I am happy to report that your topic committee has completed its
deliberations on the topic area ballot. Greg Simerly, your
Executive Secretary, will release the ballot today at 2:00PM both via
postal mail and e-mail to list-serves. It will contain five topic
areas for you to rank in order of your preference. As I noted
in earlier posts, the committee decided to limit the
number to five (after requesting community input) to avoid vote
dilution and supply a managable field of topics on the ballot.
I would like to thank you all for your input. I hope that you will
continue to share your suggestions regarding resolution wordings when
the topic area is decided.
I would also like to thank the members of the topic committee: Jenny
Barker, Russ Church, David Hingstman, Scott Jensen, Gina Lane, Greg
Simerly and Tuna Snider as well as immediate past members
Josh Hoe and Pam Stepp.
Most importantly, however, I would like to thank those authors who
took the time and care to give us a fantastic set of topic area
papers with which to work: David Berube, Martin Harris, Paul Hayes,
John Meany, Bill Newnam, Richard Pineda, Scott Segal, Stacy Sowards,
Doyle Srader, Jason Trice and Dave Wolynski. They have done a great
service to the community! The topic committee had truly an
embarrassment of riches! You all really came through for the
community and the committee. Thank you very much for your service to
the organization!!!
Finally, I want to remind you to feel free to either
contact me for copies of the topic area papers or Russ' (MTSU) or
Tuna's (Vermont) web page if you need them.
Best,
Carrie
