No-topic is worse in oppression that topic(!)
Just a thought...
When we embrace a no topic format, that opens the activity up for
compeititors from huge schools with oodles of backfiles to run kick ass
cases that they didn't even write and have the answers to every disad that
could possibly be run. Talk about severly entrenching an elitist
heirarchy...Plus, can you imagine having to debate the UN all over
again......
Seperate from oppression, that might not be a bad idea. If topics are so
re-occuring, why not pool the past 5 topic areas from ceda and just debate
on the grounds of the topic area depending on school prefrence.
example. I like the media topic so I pull out my case and debate it. If I
like the topic of the media but want to run a plan, then I can because i'm
not constrained to topic wording.
just more discussion material
