More TR

I would like to thank Bear for paraphrasing The Bunch article. I know it
comes as a shock to many, but Bakersfield is not a hotbed of academic
journals.

As to Brian McGee's post, I will say that I have already begun to explore
alternative titles (afterall, what's in a name) for my judging philosophy.
One name that I particularly like was explained to me by either Terry
Winebrenner or Joe Corcoran (I can't remember which). They (he) has
broken the judges into 2 types, active (boo hiss) and passive (yea!). The
passive kritic allows the debators ("or" as in competitor) to decide thee
debate. He/she does not intervene on the issues in the round. The activist
kritic gets involved in the round in whatever capacity they see fit.

Due to recent debate about TR, I have decided to refer to myself as a
passive judge, and make sure all the teams in my region know what that
means.

Anyone else have other ideas for alternative names?
