Not debating in doubles: 1. Kansas Ardebili & France, 7-1 18 or 19 ballots 2.5 Georgia Barsness & Davis, 7-1 17 ballots 2.5 Georgia McIntosh & Cates, 7-1 17 ballots 4. Texas Congdon & Reed, 7-1 16 ballots That's right, folks. Two of the top five seeds at the NDT did not receive first-rounds. 5. Michigan Hessell & Stoughton, 6-2 lots of ballots <can't remember> Hitting in doubles: Northwestern GJ & Northwestern FM. At this writing, I don't know who advances. I was told that Northwestern FM was the higher seed. I don't know sides for the rest of these: North Texas HM vs. Michigan HN Gonzaga BM vs. Iowa PR Texas GR vs. Wake Forest PG-R Wake Forest GR vs. Dartmouth HL Baylor CD vs. Michigan State CS Louisville AR vs. Wake Forest FG Michigan OW vs. Redlands GM Emory LS vs. Wayne State CT Emory FH vs. Macalester AG Liberty LS vs. Southern California HS A double-helping of congratulations to Michigan State, Gonzaga, and Macalester for doing that "swimming in strange waters" thing so successfully. Do I know anything else? No. Do I know who won these debaters? No. Do I know how your team did? No. Will I answer the question that you're going to e-mail me anyway? Not until Tuesday at the earliest. Doyle Srader University of Georgia <706> 548-9938
