I agree there is never enough time to discuss issues at SCA or nationals.
We need for time for discussion and debate before voting.
Some proposals:
l. People should rough out and have hashed out their proposals BEFORE
submitting them to CEDA secretary. Proposals should be well thought out
and explored before submission. Proposals should be carefully crafted and
rationale in support supplied with the proposal.
2. People should get proposals one month in advance to debate on E mail
and at tournaments BUT LETS FACE IT MANY PEOPLE AREN'T ON E MAIL AND
WON'T DEBATE THINGS ON E MAIL MANY PAPERS PROPOSALS AREN'T EVEN LOOKED AT
UNTIL SCA OR NATIONALS.
Maybe we need a Constitution and bylaw committee to oversee proposals and
prioritize changes. There is no current system to preclude bad proposals,
poorly crafted proposals, or to prioritize proposals. CEDA gets more
business than it can handle at SCA or nationals. How, preserving
democracy and voice of people, can you do anything about this??????
