It seems highly unlikely that ASEAN would suddenly unveil five new member
nations on a Friday afternoon.  The process entails a lot of discussion
about whether or not a new nation should be brought in - check out the
news reports from a few months ago about admission of Burma.  There would
be plenty of warning before new members appear, and the effective date of
their membership would be announced in advance.  Actually, it could make
for a more interesting season that way, since genuinely new cases might
appear later on.
