Debate and b-ball




After listening to post-game interview, I think that basketball players 
and reporters have a similar habit to debaters: thinking too linearly 
after a loss.  Oftentimes we ask judges "what if I said this, or what if 
i did this?"  But that doesn't escape the fact that the other team might 
have adjusted and still kicked their ass.  The bulls talk after games 
three and four of playing bad, but rarely complement the good play of the 
other team (exception: Jordan).  They always say: "we played poorly" 
instead of "they played well."  Has the NBA been secretly taking lessons 
from debaters? :)
