Re: Is There Enough Linkage Ground and Literature




I don't think that Stephen Heidt is making as much of a point about the 
topic neding to be changed altogether, as much as he is saying that our 
wording needs to be concerned with actually allowing affirmatives a 
little breathing room and at least some level of ground.  I assure 
everyone that the United States does indeed have policies towards these 
nations: a look at Department of State documents shows this.  How crucial 
these policies are is a different matter, and how broad the scope of these 
policies is is another question altogether.  I'm doing an initial dive 
into government documents on the topic, and by midweek I'll feel prety 
confident to talk about what policies the US actually does have and what 
proposals have been made.  Until then, I think I'll keep my mouth shut as 
per wording.  But as of yet, I have found NO literature supporting a 
linkage wording.
