SE Asia, a blast from the past...

Here are some of the past resolutions which were directed towards the
asia pacific region of the world. Maybe they'll help inspire some
people or generate some discussion like "OH I remember that res, here's
why word X was bad...'.

It's interesting that sometimes the 'list' of countries appears as
'...one or more of the following...' and sometimes as '...one or more of
the following NATIONS...'. I'd prefer to leave out the word nation. Or,
perhaps limite it to '...one or more of the following governments:...'.

1954-1955
RESOLVED: "That the United States should extend diplomatic recognition
to the communist government of China."

1990-1991
RESOLVED: "That the United States should substantially change its trade
policy toward one or more of the following: China,
Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan."

1992-1993
RESOLVED: "That the United States should substantially change its
development and assistance policies toward one or more
of the following nations: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Burma, Bhutan, India,
Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka."
