Today I formally accepted the DoF position at SIU. I post this to let
folks know that there will not be a 1995 Billikin Invitational Debate
Tournament in St. Louis this January (there probably won't be a debate
program at all at Saint Louis U).
However, please join us in Carbondale, January 27-29, 1995 for the Revival
of the Saluki Invitational. The Saluki will be closely modeled after the
Billikin [which was modeled after the Saluki :) ]. Invitations will go out
early this Fall.
Ken and I still plan to host the Jesuit Round Robin, as well. Qualifying
touran
nament
s will be announced soon. We will likely hold rounds on the SIU
campus and a number of other events at the tournament hotel.
I assume that the Saluki and the UMKC tournament will comprise some sort of
swing, as has occured in the past.
I will be in St. Louis until August 1.
Cheers,
Greg Simerly
Saint Louis University -------> SIU
p.s. Graduate Assistant Coaches at SIU this Fall will be Kevin O'Leary, Lea
Farstveet, and Wayne Basinger.
