Hey, folks:

Newer news: ASEAN met a couple of days ago in Kuala Lumpur and decided to
postpone Cambodia's membership in the organization until the situation
there stabilizes.  According to the New York Times profile of Hun Sen
(today's issue, front page), he's not likely to leave power by choice
anytime soon.  Hence, Cambodia will almost certainly be non-topical under
the ASEAN topic wording, though that may change during the course of the
year.

I, too, originally favored the ASEAN wording, but have now come around to
agree with the choices of the topic committee.  Of course, Cambodia would
still be great disad and counterplan ground, so it's not as if the ASEAN
topic would prevent debaters from talking about it.
