Re: Input requested on UK tournament
While I am sure that the Henry Clay Tournament will continue it's tradition
of being an excellent experience, I urge Dr. Patterson to not switch to six
prelim rounds, for the following reasons:
1. It's early in the year - everyone can use the practice.
2. Kentucky's tradition of "Southern hospitality" would be severely
restricted with only one night of tournament time.
3. As a Jesuit qualifier, this tournament offers a tremendous potential for
interaction between the NDT and CEDA communities. In such a situation, more
time to interact with new faces seems more important than getting home early.
While I understand the desires deiving many folks to six-rounders, I hope
that they can keep an open mind when dealing with people, like me, that
really prefer 8-round tournaments. Weber St has very few tournaments within
driving distance and six-round tournaments just reduce our ability to debate.
