This is all very neat, and cleverly argued (to a point).  However, it
must be noted that the tax code should not function as a method for
"throw[ing] the powers that be out of whack."  The moral basis for
taxation is shaky enough without grafting such high-minded silliness
onto it....

Mr. Upton suggests that "We need to respect difference."  Perhaps, but
at gunpoint?  What a curious definition of "respect...."
