Yea, its a bad idea and bad evidence to cite from listserves.  Look at the
ceda-l--these are not our published ideas that have stood the test of
scholarsly muster--in fact I often will take a stand on the l just to "test
the waters" and see what others think.  I often refine my initial
positions, regardless of the original motive for posting.  A lot of you
from my readings to the same.

I'm almost certain this happens on other listserves as well.  Refereed
studies and published reports in the traditional vein make much better
resources, and they, too, can be found on the internet.
