Heh.  Your quote is from Thomas Hobbes (1588-1679) ye ole English 
philosopher guy.  From LEVIATHAN pt. 1 ch. 13 (1651), said of the 
state "wherein men live without other security, than what their own 
strength and their own invention shall furnish them."
