Summer Meeting
Last weekend the topic committee, officers,and regional representatives met
in Tennessee to work for CEDA. Russell Church served as our host. Russell
and Middle Tenneesse University provided transportation for all of us for
airport pickups and returns, meetings, and to get to lunch and dinner.
CEDA could not afford these expenses and our organization owes a lot to
Russell. The topic committee( Tuna Snider, Carrie Crenshaw, Greg Simerly,
Russell Church, Josh Hoe, and Scott Jensen worked long hours on writing
topics. Tuna did an excellent job of trying to involve as many members of
our community as possible before our meeting and during. Everyone on the
topic committee stayed for the meetings the next two days to begin work on
iplementing our vision and goals for the next three years. Regional Reps
Terry West, Susan Stanfield,Steven Koch, David Steinberg, Ken Broda-Bahm,
Ed Inch,Scott Jensen, and Pat Garner came at their own expense to work for
CEDA. Steve Hunt came back to help serve,Jim Hanson attended to work on
our Costs Committee, and Sean Lemoine drove in to help work on student
leadership. Ideas were expressed, committements were made,their was more
discussion than debate , everyone listened, and we all respected each
other. I was very impressed with everyone's dedication to students and to
CEDA, and I learned from everyone there. I am really looking forward to
working with this group of leaders. CEDA you elected a wonderful group of
people to serve you. Our executive secretary, Greg Simerly, took minutes
and they will be shared with everyone on CEDA L. I know that we will be
able to accomplish many of our goals for the next three years. Thank You
